Gaza Airstrike Kills Family of Four as Violence Continues in Northern Gaza

A family of four, including two young girls, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential home in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, according to Palestinian health officials and relatives.
The victims were identified as a man named Muamen Ahmed, his wife, and their two daughters, aged 8 and 12. The family was reportedly inside their home when the strike occurred during the early hours of Thursday.
A neighbor said the attack took place at around 2 a.m., while the family was asleep. The victims' bodies were later taken to Al-Shifa Hospital, where relatives and others gathered before the burial.
The incident has added to concerns over continuing violence in Gaza despite the ceasefire that halted much of the large-scale fighting last year.
Israel Says Strike Targeted a Military Operative
The Israeli military said the strike was directed at what it described as a military structure and said Muamen Ahmed had been involved in combat against Israeli forces and in advancing attacks.
The military statement did not provide details about the deaths of the man's wife and two daughters.
Palestinian health officials and relatives confirmed the deaths but did not provide independent evidence regarding the Israeli military's allegation concerning Ahmed.
