Editorial Independence
Islam Global News maintains strict editorial independence from all commercial, political, and religious interests. Our editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of journalistic merit, public interest, and accuracy. Advertisers, sponsors, and donors have no influence over our editorial content.
Conflicts of Interest
All staff members and contributors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before covering a story. Journalists do not cover organisations, companies, or individuals with whom they have a personal or financial relationship without prior editorial approval and disclosure.
Source Protection
We protect the identity of confidential sources. When we grant anonymity to a source, we honour that commitment absolutely. We use anonymous sources only when the information is of significant public interest and cannot be obtained through on-the-record sources.
Fairness and Balance
We seek comment from all parties named or significantly affected by our reporting before publication. We present multiple perspectives on contested issues and clearly distinguish between news reporting, analysis, and opinion.
Privacy
We respect the privacy of individuals, particularly private citizens who have not sought public attention. We only publish private information when there is a clear and compelling public interest that outweighs the individual's right to privacy.
Corrections and Accountability
We acknowledge and correct errors promptly and transparently. Corrections are published on the original article and noted clearly. We do not delete or alter published articles without disclosure.
Hate Speech and Discrimination
We do not publish content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group on the basis of religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or any other characteristic. We report on hate speech and discrimination as news events without amplifying or endorsing such views.
