Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Oct 12, 2026 - Islam Global News Live

Tensions escalated in the Gulf region as Yemen's Houthi rebels launched a second consecutive missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

According to international live updates, one Indian national has been killed, and more than ten people have been injured in the latest strike. The attack comes just a day after a similar Houthi missile attack killed 12 people at the same airport.

Following the attack, Saudi authorities have cancelled nearly 60% of flights scheduled for today. Several countries' foreign ministries have issued travel advisories, upgrading the alert level for Saudi Arabia.

Sources confirm that the deceased Indian national's identity has not been officially released yet. Thousands of workers from Tamil Nadu and Kerala are employed in Riyadh, raising concerns among the Indian expatriate community.

Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on the civilian airport. Meanwhile, the Houthi group claims the attack is in response to the ongoing blockade and war in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia is currently facing a missile-defence crunch after two days of continuous attacks. Security has been tightened across all major airports in the Kingdom.

Indian Embassy in Riyadh is yet to issue an official statement regarding the Indian victim. Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and Gulf workers are advised to check flight status before traveling.
