Elderly Woman Seriously Injured After Motorcycle Plunges Into Ditch in Hamirpur
Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, India: A 70-year-old woman was seriously injured after a motorcycle carrying her and her son reportedly swerved into a roadside ditch while attempting to avoid a car in Maudaha, Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the woman's son, the incident occurred while they were travelling from their village of Bhamora towards Maudaha town. He alleged that a car approaching from behind attempted to hit their motorcycle.
In an effort to avoid the vehicle, the motorcyclist reportedly steered the bike off the road and into a ditch. The woman, identified as Sarman, fell and sustained serious injuries.
Emergency ambulance service 108 arrived at the scene and transported her to a government hospital in Maudaha, where she is receiving medical treatment.
The car driver reportedly fled the scene following the incident. Further details regarding the driver's identity and any police action were not available in the initial report.
