Historic Reform in Hajj 2026: Direct Nusuk Registration for Indian Muslims, No Agents Required
In a historic move, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially opened Hajj 2026 (1447 AH) registration for Muslims from minority-population countries through the Nusuk Hajj digital portal.
This is a revolutionary shift in Hajj policy. Pilgrims from countries like India, the USA, the UK, Europe, Australia and others can now register directly on the official platform hajj.nusuk.sa.
What is New?
• No Agents, No Middlemen: The Ministry has made it clear - registration is only via the official portal. Pilgrims are warned NOT to register via travel agents. • Direct & Transparent: You can create a Hajj profile, upload your passport, photo, and proof of residence directly. • Family Registration: One account can add up to 7 dependents/family members.
According to the official announcement, this is the biggest step toward reducing fraud, increasing transparency, and simplifying digital documentation.
Why is this important for India?
For Indian pilgrims, this is a game-changer. Until now, pilgrims depended heavily on the Haj Committee of India quota and private tour operators. Now, Muslims living in India can apply through the Direct Hajj Program, which allows global Muslims to apply without their country quota system.
Phase 1 (Account creation + document upload) is now open. Package selection and payment will start in Phase 2.
